The Greater St. James Baptist Church in Baton Rouge recently held its first Men versus Women Barbeque cook off. The  group cooked BBQ chicken and ribs, jambalaya, and baked beans.

WAFB's Nine News Neighborhoods Web Producer Michelle McCalope and Councilwoman Tara Wicker were among the judges.

The men won overall, but the women outscored the men in the jambalaya contest.

Officials say they hope to make it an annual event.
