News

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB)- Baton Rouge Police are searching for a man accused of kidnapping and raping a Baton Rouge woman just after 12:30 Friday afternoon.

Police say a 22-year-old woman was kidnapped from a parking lot of the Bone and Joint clinic on Hennessy Blvd.  She was then allegedly forced into a pickup truck at gunpoint.

The kidnapper took her to a wooded area in Iberville Parish where police say he raped the woman. The woman was brought back to Baton Rouge and left at a McDonalds on Nicholson Drive, near the LSU campus.

When police were notified, LSU officials sent out an alert to faculty and staff, warning them about the alleged incident. LSU is required to send out an alert when a situation meets certain requirements and regulations.

The witness tells police the man drove away in a newer, red, 4x4, 4-door Chevy Silverado with tan, leather interior. He is described as a white male, in his 40's, with graying hair, scars on his neck, and many bumps or freckles on his arms.

He was last seen headed towards the LSU campus.

Baton Rouge Police are asking you to call them at 225-389-3853 if you have any information. You are also able to call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP.
