Funeral services today for SU's Carnell Knighten | Families
Southern University students and staff as well as family and friends will say their final goodbye to longtime former assistant band director Carnell Knighten. Knighten's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 1 at the F.G. Clark Activity Center on campus.
He died on Jan. 24 after collapsing in the hallway in the music department on campus. He was 60 years old.
Co-workers say that Knighten was an outstanding musician, composer and arranger, and that he was well loved by all the students and faculty.
