Former Channel 9 Meteorologist traveling across country on his bike | Community Spirit

Rick Arnett is cycling across the country on a 10,000-mile trek "just for the joy of it."
 
Arnett, a former Channel 9 meteorologist from 1989 to 1992, stopped by the WAFB Channel 9 studios Friday while traveling through on a leg of his tour. He started cycling April 1 in Portland, where he now lives. He will finish Nov. 10 in New Orleans.

Last year, he completed a 5,000-mile cycling tour.

Arnett isn't doing it to raise money. However, he's encouraging everyone to buy bicycle helmets for children and donate them to the Toys for Tots program. For more information, you can go to his Facebook page.
