WAFB viewers reaching out to 88-year-old woman who was robbed of $15 | Community Spirit
An update on our story from Monday, Aug. 13 about 88-year-old Dorothy Barber of Baton Rouge who was attacked and robbed at knifepoint at the bus stop while going to work. The thief stole her purse with $15 in it.
On Tuesday, Aug. 14, a couple of dozen people called WAFB Channel 9 saying they wanted to help Barber. One man stopped by the station and dropped off $100 in cash. Another bought her a six-month bus pass. Many are giving her $15 to replace the money that was taken.
