Baseball Legend Lou Brock will speak at diabetes summit |

Baseball Hall of Famer Lou Brock will speak at a diabetes summit on April 24 at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge.
Brock, a Southern University alumnus who played 17 years for the St. Louis Cardinals, was diagnosed with diabetes about 12 years ago.
"Louisiana Diabetes Summit: Meeting our Challenge" will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free, but you must register to attend.
The conference will focus on bringing more awareness about the disease , promote prevention, and encourage patients to get the best possible care.
It will feature a variety of experts on the subject. The council is sponsored by the Environment and Health Council of Louisiana in conjunction with Pennington.
